7! WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS AGAIN AGAIN AND AGAIN!
We had an incredibly exciting weekend in Zagreb where the top 10 teams competed for the championship.
On Saturday, each team played a two-map match against every other team in a league format.
In the table, each map was scored as a win, draw, or loss. This meant that each team contributed 18 points by the end of the day.
Our team, with 16 won maps, one drawn, and one lost, secured first place, earning us a direct seeding into the playoff phase. In second place, just two points behind, was DREAMTEAM, and the podium was completed by the players from ENTROPIQ.
However, EIQ struggled with lineup issues, and one of the MSKR players was hospitalized after feeling unwell. Dawid, we’re glad to hear you’ve recovered. The local heroes from DOPEFISH finished in fourth place.
The next day was a cup competition. In the first round, we had to face a team that had secured a spot in the playoffs from eighth place – MEMORA. After two victorious maps, 13-2, we advanced to the semifinals of the higher cup ladder. After DOPEFISH’s victory over Whatever, the “RYB” team became our opponent.
After a strong start, our Croatian colleagues also had to admit defeat, and after a double score of 13-5, we qualified for the small final of the tournament and guaranteed a podium finish. However, ambition and hunger were greater. After their victory over DT, the EIQ team advanced to the finals. The first railyard map ended in OT in favor of EIQ 19-16 after an incredibly intense match. The second map turned out to be quite unexpectedly high for us, 13-5, leading to a draw. A decisive battle on the DEPOT map was necessary to resolve the issue. After a very intense fight, luck was on our side. Final score was 13-11 sending ENTROPIQ to the lower bracket and into the GRAND FINAL.
In the lower finals Entropiq players were again on top, and the team under the green logo once again made it to the main finals. We entered into this match with a 1-0 lead in a best-of-five series due to our previous victory in the UB finals. Unfortunately for the fans, but great for us, we used the advance and by winning two more maps, we secured the 7th championship title! Congratulations to the entire team and many thanks to the organizers and all opponents.
